Deacon Henry Payne, Sr. age 74 was born on September 18, 1945, to the late Jessie and Carrie Payne.

Answering the call of God, he joined the Glorified Church of God in Unity where he served faithfully as a Deacon until his health began to fail.

Henry worked and retired from Cullum’s Lumber Mill in Allendale, SC after many years of service.

He was a loving and kind person and will be remembered for the love he had for his family, church, and friends. 

He was married to his loving wife Ella Ruth Payne for over 47 years.

Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Kadie McMillan and Estell Haggard, and two brothers in law, John Haggard and Leroy McMillan.

Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call him from labor to reward on April 14, 2020, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, a loving wife, Ella Ruth Payne of Barnwell, SC; four children, Lisa Lee (Keith) of Blackville, SC, Henry Lamont (Sybil) Payne of Williston, SC, Eric Payne (Lateka) of Hephzibah, GA, and Katrina Payne of Martin, SC;  twelve grandchildren;  four great-grandchildren;  one brother, Leon (Thomasina) Payne of Barnwell, SC;  two sisters, Carrie (Rodrick) Scott of Allendale, SC, and Patricia (Porter) Garner of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
