At an early age, she joined and was baptized at the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where she served as President of the Usher Board, and on the Missionary Society.  She was a faithful member, and served faithfully until the Lord called her home.

She was married to Bernard Brown for 39 years.

One sister, Mary Louise Outing, two brothers in law, Herman Outing, and John Smith, and one uncle, Uly Rhodes precede her in death.
