Mr. Andrew “Andy” Cave, Sr., age 46, of Jacksonville, FL., formerly of Barnwell, SC was born on September 01, 1967 to the late William Pernell, Sr. and the late Vergie Mae Cave.  Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call him from labor to reward on May 25, 2014 at his home in Jacksonville, FL.

At an early age, he joined, and was baptized at the Union United Methodist Church, in Kline, SC.

He graduated in 1985 from the Barnwell High School in Barnwell, SC, where he played football, and was a member of the JROTC. He worked for many years at Milliken Textiles, Western Auto, and as a truck driver for Schneider National.  He was a member of the US Army and the US Navy, where he retired.

Andrew loved football and was a partner of the Duval Vipers Inc., Amateur Sports, and Minor League Football Team in Jacksonville, FL.  He had a passion for building computers and was the owner of AC Photography, which was the high light of his life and gave him great joy. He not only had a passion for it, but was one of the best at what he did.

Three brothers, four uncles, and two aunts precede him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted companion, Lawanda Curry of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, Philip Masters of Grand Junction, CO, and Andrew Cave, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters, Lillie Mae Barker of Kline, SC, Mary Pernell of Barnwell, SC, Jessie Mae Pernell of Denmark, SC, and Sarah (Adam) Braziel of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers, Alonzo Cave of Kline, SC, Dwight (Reather) Cave of Blackville, SC, and Pastor Benjamin F. Andrew you've been one of my closest friends for awhile now. We talked every day at work and off work. When I told you I was pregnant I you were so happy for me and Alonzo. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to handle this. The photo shoot you did was of our baby shower April 26. You did my maternity pictures and in a few weeks you were supposed to be at the hospital to take AJ's first picture. I'm so hurt and lost right now....you will forever be missed. Love you always

I have known Andrew for the last 6 years and was his Manager at Schneider National for 4 of those yrs but most of all I considered him my friend. He always had a smile on his face when I saw him and kind words to say to all. You will truly be missed my friend.

May the peace that comes from the memories of love shared comfort you now and in the days ahead. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:6).

We are sharing your sorrow.

My Dearest Sweet Uncle Andy!
Angels are among us in the flesh for a short while. You are definitely an Angel and I am so blessed to have shared countless precious moments with you by my side as a young child all the way into adulthood. Your understanding, unconditional love, non-judge mental ears, your advice, young spirit, jokes that made the entire room fall out, your polite mannerisms, creativity, your willingness to help anyone in need, your persistence in following your dreams, honesty and hilarious animation when telling stories is priceless. The list goes on "Unc" you know how we do! I cherish these moments for these moments are life. You will forever LIVE in my heart always. I love you so much Uncle Andy!!!!!

I would like to say that Andrew was a good friend of mine and he loved his life and everyone he considered apart of it. Andrew was a very dependable friend and would give his time no matter what time it was for conversation. I met Andrew almost 3 years ago and we hit it off from day one. I looked at Andrew like a brother and we spoke almost every day for hours at a time. Andrew loved his family and he sometimes pushed himself to much to put smiles on peoples faces he cared about or just wanted to leave a good impression. Andrew was the first real friend I have had in a long time and we talked about any and everything. There were also things he never told anyone but me and I knew he had his reasons for not telling people who wouldn't be able to handle it. Andrew loved his sons as well and he was always talking about them. Only thing I ask of you is to please take good care of his photography, video and computer equipment he had and don't let it get in the wrong hands. He really cherished his stuff and had alot of money invested in it. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at 9043307653 thank you and God Bless you all

My thoughts and prayers go out to Andrews family at this difficult time.
I worked with Andrew for over eight years in Jacksonville, Fl and considered
him a good friend. We had our differences at times but always worked thru
them with mutual respect for each other. One of my first memories of Andrew
was when my truck wouldnt disconnect from a trailer at a customer in Elkton,
Fl and Andrew and his son pulled up while I was working it and they both
jumped out of there truck and started helping me try to get it unhooked.
Jr kept running back and forth to their truck to get tool after tool trying to
get it unhooked. That memory has always stuck with me and how polite his
son was and their steadfast determination to help others.
We will all miss Andrew my friend.
Again my thoughts and prayers to Andrews family and friends.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire family. I had the privilege to work with Andrew for the last 9 years at Schneider. He had the biggest heart and smile of anyone I have known. He would always try to find the best in a situation and find the silver lining no matter how bad things were or how frustrating his day was. Since we worked in different areas (him and Jax and me in ATL) we did most of our communicating over the phone. You could almost hear his big smile over the phone when he talked. Our headquarters in Green Bay recently went through a big renovation. Andrew's picture (attached to this site) is front and center for everyone to see as they pass through the main doors. He will forever be remembered! I will certainly miss him and his infectious spirit!

I grew up with and attended school with Andy and he was one of the most wonderful persons I've known in my life. I was shocked when I heard of Andy's death, it brought back great memories of the times we shared. Our prayers goes out to his wonderful family and if there is anything we can assist with we are here with open arms.

To the family,
You've lost a great man in life, one who was willing to go the extra mile for anyone and everyone. I should know he loved me unconditionally for the last past eight years, even though there were miles between us. He spoke of everyone sisters, brothers, nieces, friends, cousins, and so many more. I knew more about his family than my own. We were suppose to grow old together and look back on life and laugh at the trials and triumphs, but GOD had another plan. I wish I could have had just a little more time with him to finish what we started, but I guess I will have to wait to see him on the OTHER side! May your family be at peace, because that is what he brought to all that encountered him
