Our beloved, Aunt Mamie Williams was born October 13, 1916 in old Barnwell County, South Carolina to the late Oscar Williams and the late Alzanar Mitchell Williams. She was the 13th child of 14, born to this union.
At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined the Allen Chapel Methodist Church, which later merged with Simpson United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member and remained active in church until her health failed.
The flowers discharge their bright ministry of love, propagate their seed and die, but not until their work is done. The mighty oak retains its vigor for ages, but falls at last. Death comes at all seasons and ages for mankind; The cradle is his; childhood and youth is his; the prime of manhood and woman hood is his; he blights the freshness of hope. Often he sends no summons before him, but floats unseen on the breeze. Death comes on hushed footsteps to all, thus it came to our dear aunt Mamie Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories two nephews reared in the home, Willie Williams (Willie Mae) of Allendale, SC, and Hallie Williams of St. Louis, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
