Mrs. Doris B. Smith Bradley, aka “Sister” age 74, of Barnwell, SC, was born on November 08, 1940 in Dunbarton, South Carolina to the late William Bush and the late Viola Bates Bush.  Our Heavenly Father called her home on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

At an early age, she sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Runs Baptist Church in Beech Island, SC.  She later moved her membership to the Mt Anna Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. Under the direction of our Heavenly Father, she recently joined the Second Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC where she remained a member until the Lord called her home.

She attended the Butler High School in Barnwell, South Carolina, and worked at ET Barwick Mills in Barnwell, South Carolina, until it closed.  She later sought employment at Hardees in Barnwell, South Carolina, and worked there for over fourteen years before retiring.

“Sister”, as she was affectionately called by those who knew her, will best be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends.

She was married to Lester Smith of Hartford, Connecticut for many years, and later married John H. Bradley of Barnwell, SC.

Five brothers, Joseph Bush, James Bush, Lawson Bush, Franklin Bush, and William Ashley, one sister, Madell B. Johnson, and one grandchild, Breanna S. Buckmon preceded her in death.

I am so sorry for your loss. I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. May these words give you a new hope.
