Mrs. Bernice Walker, aka “Shug” age 96, of Blackville, SC, was born on August 18, 1919 in Blackville, South Carolina to the late Cornelius Donaldson, and the late Annie Perry Donaldson. Our Heavenly Father called her home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the home of her niece in Aiken, SC.
At an early age, she sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lees, SC, where she was the Mother of the Church sang in the Senior Choir, member of the Missionary Society, Golden Girls, and Sister Hood.
She attended the Mt Zion School in Lees, South Carolina, and worked as a housekeeper for many years.
“Shug”, as she was affectionately called by those who knew her, will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends.
She was married to the love of her life, Willie James Walker for many years.
One son, one daughter, nine sisters and brothers, and many other family members preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Willie James Walker, Jr; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
