Mrs. Josephine R. Carter, age 77 was born in Martin, SC on April 17, 1939 to the late Josh Robinson and the late Eva Rhone Robinson.
At an early age, she sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Martin, SC.
She received her education at the Furse Mill School in Martin, SC.
“Jo” as she was affectionately known will be remembered for the love she had for her family, and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She was married to Mr. Tom Carter, Sr. for four years before the Lord called him home.
Besides her parents, and grandparents she is preceded in death by one son in law, Henry Jones, one sister, Flossie Elmore, and one brother in law, Jennings Elmore.
On Wednesday, June 8, 2016, our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, SC.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Lena Jones of Barnwell, SC; two grandchildren, Katrina Jones and Antoine Burgess of Barnwell, SC; one great granddaughter, Karli Jenkins of Barnwell, SC; one stepson, Tom (Althea) Carter, Jr. of Allendale, SC; one niece, Annie Mae (Johnnie) Roberts of Martin, SC; two grand nieces, Johnnie Mae Roberts and Tiffani Roberts of Columbia, SC; one grandnephew, Johnnie Roberts, Jr. of Columbia, SC; one great grandniece, Niya Roberts of Columbia, SC, and a host cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
