Ms. Julia Jenkins, aka “Coot”, age 83 of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Allendale, SC, was born on August 20, 1933 to the late Andrew Jenkins, and the late Sula Smart Jenkins.
She received her education at the Mount Calvary School in Ulmer, SC.
At an early age she joined and was baptized at the Paul Chapel Baptist Church in Ulmer, SC. In 2004 she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and later joined Souls of Christ Ministries where she served as Mother of the Church.
Besides her parents and grandparents, three brothers, Rosco Jenkins, Charley Ray Jenkins, and Frank Jenkins preceded her in death.
Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the Kingsbrook Jewish Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Shirley M. Jenkins (Alba) Bhola of Brooklyn, NY, Shirley J. Jenkins of Aiken, SC, and Luthmae P. (Gregory) Folk of Varnville, SC; one son, Frank (Sandra) Jenkins of Manhattan, NY, twenty-six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Alice Jenkins of Barnwell, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
