Minister Sadie Saxton, age 78 was born in Allendale, SC on June 12,1938 to the late Ruben Smalls, Sr. and the late Florrie Mae Raysor Smalls.
She received her education at the Macedonia High School in Blackville, SC.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, she joined the Church of God Holiness Church in Blackville, SC where she served as minister.
“Monk” as she was affectionately known, was a loving and kind person, and will be remembered for the love she had for her family, and friends.
She was married to Joe Amos Saxton, Sr. for 52 years.
On Saturday, December 03, 2016, our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward at Pruitt Health in Aiken, SC.
Besides her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by one son, Willie James Smith, and one brother, Ruben Smalls, Jr.
Sadie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Joe Saxton, Sr., five daughters, Johnnie Mae (Ralph) Jackson, and Josephine (Charlie) Elmore, Sr. of Allendale, SC, Sandra D. Saxton of Fairfax, SC, Evonne Smith and Eartha (Johnny, Sr.) Johnson of Savannah, GA; five sons, Stafford (Grace) Saxton, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Joe Amos (Melissa) Saxton, Jr. of Allendale, SC, Dennis (Tomeka) Saxton, Sr. of Barnwell, SC, Kelvin (Natalie) Saxton, Sr. of Denmark, SC, and Torrence (Antonette) Saxton, Sr. of Hampton, SC; twenty three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two godchildren; one sister, Willie Mae Williams of Blackville, SC; four sisters in law; one brother in law; one uncle, Loranzo Hayes of Savannah, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
