Ms. Rose Mary Badger, aka “Blue” age 77 was born on July 7, 1940, in Allendale, SC to the late Henry and Ora Lee Elmore.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, she joined the Beautiful Gate Baptist Church in Allendale, SC where she served faithfully as Secretary for 55 years, was on the Usher Board, and Program Committee and Organized the Jr. Choir. She was also a member of the Mt. Hope Benevolent Society for many years and the Mt Calvary Association and BTU Sunday School Convention.
She received her education at the CV Bing School in Allendale, SC, and later furthered her education at Voorhees College in Demark, SC. where she received her BS Degree and SC State College in Orangeburg, SC where she received her Master’s Degree. She worked as a School Teacher for over 37 years before retiring. Thirty-Seven (37) years in the Allendale Middle School System and six (6) years in the Brunson Middle School System. She was responsible for young adults and adults accelerating in mathematics in the surrounding counties.
“Blue” as she was affectionately known will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by, her grandparents, Sunny and Gracie White, two sisters, Lillie Mae Graham Stevens, and Daisy Lee Youmans, daughter in law, Joane S. Badger, three brothers, James Henry Elmore, Arthur Youmans "Coot", and George Youmans and Godmother, Bessie Jones.
Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on September 2, 2017, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, GA.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, two sons, James E. Badger of Allendale, SC and Rickey L. Badger (Juanita G Thomas) of Fairfax, SC; six grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice (James) Terrell of Buffalo, NY, Shiann Mitchell of Calabash, NC, and Lila Youmans of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Henry and Willie Mitchell of Fairfax, SC; two goddaughters, Peggy Williams-Wright and Valarie Randolph; Special and Loving Friend, Mr. Thomas Edwards, III of Martin, SC; best friends, Sue Allen Williams, Willie Mae Dix, and Addie B. Law; sister in Christ, Lessie Priester and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
