Michael Hunter

Michael Anthony Hunter, 71, of Barnwell, South Carolina, unexpectedly passed away on November 20, 2024. He was born on October 15, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late James and Agnes Carter Hunter and moved to Barnwell in 1970, where he spent most of his life.

Michael fathered two sons, Michael Anthony Hunter, Jr of Jacksonville, Florida, and Seneca Hunter of Barnwell, SC.  

Michael leaves two sisters and one brother to cherish his beautiful memory: Barbara Newberry of Barnwell, SC, Jacob Hunter of Barnwell, SC, and Cheryl Lynn Hampton of Jacksonville, Florida.

Michael was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Alisia Newberry-Lowe, Aubrey Newberry, April Newberry Mayes, Nicole Hunter, Elaine Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Jr, Desmond Hunter, Elizabeth Hunter, Terance Smith, Jerome Creech, and Geordi Hampton. 

Michael's absence will be felt by those who knew him, and his memory will remain a part of his family’s story.

A private service will be held for the family at a later date.
