Urias Mingo

Mr. Urias Mingo, age 91, of Ehrhardt, SC, was called from “Labor to Reward” on January 09, 2016.

Mr. Mingo was born on June 4, 1924 in Bamberg, South Carolina to the late Ernest and Mattie Sease Mingo.

At an early age, he sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Rizer Chapel UMC Church in Ehrhardt, South Carolina where he served faithfully as a Trustee, sang in the Senior Choir, and was the father of the church.

He attended the public schools of Bamberg, SC, and worked for many years as a Dairy Farmer for Carter’s Dairy Farm in Ehrhardt, SC, before retiring.  

“PaPa”, as he was affectionately called by his grandchildren, will be missed, and remembered for the love he had for his family, and friends.

He was married to the love of his life, Lucile S. Mingo for 63 years before the Lord called her home.  This union was blessed with four children.

Besides his wife and parents, Urias is proceeded in death by eight siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters: Willie Dell (Arthur Lee, Sr.) Folks, and Bernice E. (Horace W. Jr.) Raysor of Bamberg, SC; Eula Mae (Clarence Jr.) Henderson of Varnville, SC, and Vermell Mingo of Ehrhardt, SC.  Special Son, Clifford S. Folks of Perth Amboy, NJ; two brothers, Joseph (Roslin) Mingo, Sr of Ehrhardt, SC, and Willie James (Geraldine) Mingo of Lexington, SC;  two sisters-in-law, Joanne Mingo of Buffalo, NY, and Betty Johnson of Greensboro, NC;  8 grandchildren;  Arthur L. Jr. (Melissa)Folks, William V. Sr. (LaWanda) Raysor, Lucile L. Folks, Sharon L. Williams, Veronda N. (Freddie) Campbell, Urias L. (Frankie) Folks, Moses F. Raysor, and Jelisa T.A. Raysor; Three Special Grands, Douglas A. Smith, Ta’Kwan O. Lewis, and Tianna Corujo; 18 great-grandchildren, one great greatgrandchild, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and sympathizing friends.
